Today I was working with parcel polygon data in a small scale map. Well, a small enough scale that the shape of the polygons was meaningless. I didn’t want to create new data by using the Feature To Point tool. What I needed was the polygons symbolized as points. Fortunately, ArcGIS Pro has options to do just that with Marker symbol layers.
Step 1: Add a Marker layer.
Symbology > Properties > Structure > Layers > Add symbol layer > Marker layer
Step 2: Set marker placement to center.
Layers > Marker Placement > Placement > At center
With just a couple settings I was able to meet my needs.
*Note in the screenshot above that I am using Census Places and not parcels like the original project.
